Hugo's tacos is this magical places where they don't only sell good Mexican food but they also cater to vegans, which is always appreciated. Their whole menu is designed for the consumer to know that anything they make can be made vegan. By substituting meat and cheese with options like soy chorizo, mixed veggies, and the famous Daiya cheese vegans get to try their good food. They have three locations, Atwater Village, Studio City, and Woodland Hills. They also have a main restaurant in Studio City.

The first time I heard of Hugo's Tacos I went to their Atwater Village location in Glendale, and I loved their food! I first tried their vegan nachos and their cheese quesadilla with soy chorizo and they were both great picks.
The second time I went to Hugos tacos I ordered a VEGAN quesadilla with soy chorizo and when I go to bite into it I saw that the cheese did not look like Daiya, so I was freaking out. I thought they used two types of vegan cheeses so I told my sister to try it if it tasted real and it was. Anyways, from then on I ALWAYS double check my order just in case their is something nasty I don't want in my food.
BTW: Their Horchata drink is NOT vegan, I learned that the hard way. :(
Minus the two mistakes I had going to Hugo's Tacos, I love this place because it's so convenient to get my vegan nachos fix. This place is also perfect because you can take non-vegan friends or family to grab something to eat and not have to deal with either of you not having any options.
Check out more of their menu here!
