Foodie Pen Pal August 2012

(Blue Spill?)

On August 20th monday, i had a feeling my foodie pen pal box was coming so i kept checking if the lovely mail lady was by the mailboxes putting in letters. After checking three times she was finally here so i checked but since our mailbox is too little i knew they were going to leave a note to pick it up later but i spotted the box on the ground so i waited. She saw me standing there and said hi and asked me what apartment i was in and i told her and she gave me the package. After i thanked her i couldn't stop smiling because i was so excited! The amazing lady who sent this to me was Amy, thank you so much for everything i really did like everything! (i almost ate half the box when it came)

When i saw the box i just wanted to rip it open and see what was in it but i was kind of worried because i saw a blue stain and i thought something might have spilled open. After i opened it i saw it was only spray paint so it was all good.
The box was packed and the first thing that caught my eye were the Yummy Earth candy drops. I have been craving sweets like crazy and i was tempted to buy some cheap not healthy candy but i stopped myself and when i saw these in the box i was so excited to try them out and they were so good.
I have never been to Trader Joe's and i was planning on going ever since i found out there was one close by but i was kind of worried not knowing what to get and how it is and this box helped me decide what i'm getting for sure.I loved everything in this box even though i thought i wasn't going to like the Orange flavored cranberries but i did so thank you Amy for them!

(eating these as i write this post)
These most amazing, delicious, goodness banana chips are the best i have ever tasted! I was so glad that they were in the box because they are so good and my whole family liked them. The ingredients say bananas and coconut oil and i love coconut so it tasted 2xs better so these for sure i will be buying soon.

Also these Vegan Marshmallow treats were so good and they're are a perfect snack especially for work.
Overall I loved this box, everything in it was tasty so thank you so much Amy for feeding us these amazing tasting snacks and treats!

Vegan Banana Chocolate bread

I made it! okay so the last post i tried Banana Chocolate cake  from No Udder Desserts and it was so good i had to make it so this was a test to see if i can ahaha. So i got the ingredients from the No Udder desserts label, from the cake, and i got the measuring stuff, how much flour i put, from The Sweetest vegan on YouTube and i just added bananas. I'll just list the ingredients i used below. Of course it didn't taste exactly like the original but it was good, you can taste the banana very well which i love and it wasn't so sweet.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of Unbleached Whole Wheat flour
1 cup of brown sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 bananas mashed
1/4 cup canola oil
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup almond milk
1 cup water

Preheat oven at 375 and bake for 30-35mins.

No Udder banana love

(My dad couldn't wait till after i took the photo to take a bite)
Oh Lotus Vegan i love you! Okay so yesterday my sister and I were craving some sweets but there are no close by bakery that are vegan and that were open at that time so we went to the Lotus Vegan. With only 10 bucks on hand and we settled on getting two small, but delicious, cakes. The photo above shows a Chocolate Banana cake and oh man i think it's the best cake ever! You can taste the banana on both the cake and the frosting which i love and it's not too sweet, it's moist and sooo good and bonus they have the ingredients on the label so i will try to recreate the goodness cake. We also got Red Velvet which was good and not too sweet but i my favorite was the banana chocolate cake.

The cakes are not made by the workers at the lotus vegan, they get them by a bakery in Woodland Hills called No Udder Desserts and already i love this bakery. They are all vegan and amazing and hopefully i'll get to go in their shop soon to try more of there goodies.
